How to Update Camera Firmware in Quik for desktop

What are you trying to do?
Perform a firmware update on your camera in Quik for desktop
Where does it apply?
  • HERO7 Cameras
  • HERO6 Camera
  • HERO5 Cameras
  • HERO4 Cameras
  • HERO3+ Cameras
  • HERO/HERO+ Cameras

How to do it?
Please click on your camera model below to show the update steps:
HERO 7, HERO6, HERO5 Black / Session
  1. Connect your camera via USB cable and Quik for desktop will communicate with your camera. When an update is available, a blue icon will appear next to your camera, and a white banner will show above the camera logo. Have a look at the image below to see what this looks like.

  1. Once you click the icon, a new window will appear with the release notes for the new update.

  1. Check the license agreement box, click "UPDATE" and your camera will begin installing the update files.

4. The last message will be a confirmation letting you know that the camera has been successfully updated. Click "Got it" and you're done!

HERO4 Black / Silver
  1. Connect your camera via USB cable and Quik for desktop will communicate with your camera. When an update is available, a blue icon will appear next to your camera as you see below:

  1. Once you click the icon, a new window will appear with the release notes for the new update.

  1. After clicking "UPDATE", you'll get the following warning message,

  1. Following this warning message, your camera will begin installing the update files.
