How to Grab a Photo from a Video in the GoPro Player

How to do it?
Depending on the final result, GoPro Player can provide two ways to grab a photo from a video:
  1. From your standard equirectangular video
  2. From various aspect ratios of the same equirectangular video
FUSION CAMERA USERS - You can use this feature in GoPro Player too! You must first stitch together your clips in Fusion Studio before importing your final clip into the GoPro Player.

How to grab a 360 Photo from video
  1. Open GoPro Player and import your video file.
  2. ​​​​Move your timeline to the frame you wish to grab a photo.

  1. Select the Grab Photo icon along the bottom center of the player, or you can select Edit > Extract Current Frame from the menu bar above.

  1. A new window will appear from there, then just select File - Save to save the 360 equirectangular photo.

How to grab a photo with various aspect ratios from a video
  1. Open GoPro Player and import your video file.​​​​
  2. Move your timeline to the frame you wish to grab a photo.

  1. Select the Reframe icon on the bottom center of the player.

  1. A set of new icons appear. Position the frame to your desired angle by using your mouse and keyboard to zoom or rotate.
  2. From there, choose the various aspect ratios along the top right corner. 16 x 9 is the default size.

  1. Once chosen, select the Grab Photo icon along the bottom center of the player. Or you can press Edit - Extract Current Frame the menu bar.

  1. A new window will appear from there. You can then select File - Save. This saves a reframe photo from the video.
