Question
How does Quik for mobile manage slow-motion?
Where does it apply?
  • Quik for mobile
  • iOS Devices
  • Android Devices

Answer
iOS
Quik for mobile uses the settings / slo-mo zone you saved in the Photos App for your slow-motion footage.
So first you have to set up the range for the slow-motion in the Photos App. You will see your slomo shot play in slomo in the preview of your video (but not in the trim view).

For each video clip you can choose its SPEED: fast / regular / slow
  • SLOW: 1/8x for a video in 240fps, 1/4x for 120fps, etc... For videos in 30fps it will be slowed down at 1/2x even though it may be a bit choppy.
  • REGULAR: normal speed
  • FAST: speed x2
Android
For each video clip you can choose its SPEED: fast / regular / slow.

  • REGULAR: normal speed
  • FAST: speed x2
For each HiLight you can activate the SloMo Effect. Works with videos shot at 48fps or above.

For videos in 100fps or above: they are played in full slomo.
However, if you activate the SloMo Effect on a HiLight then only this part will be played in slow motion and the rest of the video will be set to 'regular speed'.
