GoPro Mobile Apps Compatibility

Compatibility and feature availability vary depending upon your camera model, camera capture settings, mobile device operating system and power. In order to take full advantage of features, please be sure your mobile device, app, and camera are on their current versions of software and firmware.

  • HERO3+
  • HERO3 (requires camera software update - learn how to update) Live Preview is not supported.
  • HD HERO2 with Wi-Fi BacPac (requires camera software update - learn how to update) Live Preview is not supported.


Compatible Mobile Devices
  • iOS Devices (iOS 13 or newer)
  • Android devices running Android 8.0 or later

Feature Compatibility
  • Video trimming is compatible with videos captured in select modes only, and compatible with iOS 13 and later, or Android 8.0 and later. 
  • HiLight Tag is compatible with HERO 9 Black, HERO8 Black, MAX, HERO7, HERO (2018), Fusion, HERO6, HERO5 HERO4, HERO Session, HERO+ LCD and HERO+ cameras only. 
  • Wireless camera updates are compatible with HERO9 Black, HERO8 Black, MAX, HERO7, Fusion, HERO6, HERO5, HERO4, HERO Session, HERO+ LCD, HERO+ and HERO3+ cameras only. 
  • Viewing and sharing are compatible with videos captured in select modes only.
