@defriend, you may check with third-party online and physical retailers. We do not have a list of specific ones, but let's wait to see other users' recommendations.

How long are you looking for? Longer cables generally are more prone to issues, so you want to keep the length to a minimum. Most importantly, make sure the cable is high quality.
How to make sure you are getting a good cable:
Stick to reputable brands (Anker, UGREEN, Ravpower, Belkin, Google, Aukey)
Check for USB-C certification logo
The USB-C end connector should be solid and smooth around the entire circumference
56k Ohm resistor
Stay within 3 feet (6' max)

I was speaking about longer cables that has been sorted thanks, However, when I’m at my desk and playing with my go pro with an external battery it never seems to go wrong but when I’m in the car want to use it as a dash cam which to fix Up sidedown to the screen I start getting problems as soon as I plug in the external battery it turns off and comes back With notice, saying ‘file repairing’ that’s when I turn the go pro upside down to attach it to the screen any ideas? Using the same cable and external battery, it works fine when right side up? The camera has a Pericom PI3USB9281 chip that monitors and controls the power supply. The purpose of the chip is to protect against bad chargers (hence my point about the 56k Ohm resistor above). If there is an issue with the cable or power supply, you will get behavior as you described. When you turn the GoPro upside down there is a slight spike in the power consumption as the gyroscope transmits the data and the processor adjust the display. This might be why you are getting this response in this certain situation.

Thanks Daniel I’m pleased to say you have cleared that up! I’ve just realised the problem is only when I turn the camera upside down this only happened when I am in the car. however, if I take the internal battery out turn the camera upside down I have no problems, thanks for your input. Much appreciated! Ian
