is there a cover that allows the camera to charge while on my motorcycle

i thought i saw somewhere a rear cover for the Hero which would allow the USB to be plugged into cigarette lighter whilst riding my motorcycle.

With HERO+ you can't take the camera out of the case. However, you should be able to take the back door off giving you access to the charging port.
