Thanks for reaching out, @macad. I do have a few things to check with you that will help us further isolate the problem:

  • Are you using SuperSuit or housing with the camera while recording?
  • Do you have Combo Cable or 3.5mm Mic Adapter plugged in?
  • Does recording works fine without the Mic Adapter and external microphone connected?

You may also try reinstalling the firmware update of the camera can help correct any errors with the current software installation. Follow the manual update instructions specified on this article: https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/How-to-Update-GoPro-Cameras

 

If reinstalling the update doesn't help, we would also need to gather a sample raw / unedited footage of your camera. To ensure we gather a good sample please follow the guidelines below while recording your clip:

  1. Make sure the camera is outside of the housing. 
  2. Record in a quiet environment.
  3. Record so that I can see you speaking towards the camera. 
  4. Upload the sample raw / unedited footage to your Dropbox or Google drive and provide us the shared link so we can look into the details here.
