Wifi Remote paired to Session 5 and Hero 5

I successfully paired my wifi remote to my Session 5 and Hero 5 but whenever the cameras turn off and I press the record button on the remote the remote just shows a wifi picture. Am I doing something wrong or is there a certain process?

Re: Wifi Remote paired to Session 5 and Hero 5

You have a maximum of eight hours to reconnect to the cameras after the have been turned off. Once that time has passed you will need to turn the cameras on manually first.

Re: Wifi Remote paired to Session 5 and Hero 5

When you are seeing the Wi-Fi signal the camera is not connected to the remote. How long after pairing are you attempting to turn the cameras back on after shutting them down, and are you using the remote to do so? Finally, you need to power the camera on and then press the record button. As long as the remote is connected to the camera it can be used to power on the camera (pressing the power button), but I don't believe it can be used for Quick Capture (which would be pressing the record button with the camera off).

I attempted to to turn them on a day after I paired the remote. And yes I am using the remote to do so.
