I have a Hero 5 and I previously had a Smart Remote synced up to my camera. I subsequently lost the remote overboard while fishing. When I purchased the ARMTE-001, I could not get it to sync with my camera. I tried all the comments I found on line and on GoPro's support hub. Finally, I decided to clear my settings for the remote and start from scratch. The remote synced up in about 10 seconds after doing this. I hope this saves some others some time if they are trying to hook up a second remote to their camera.

how to update the firmware of the remote artme-001? as I understand it does not connect because of old firmware in the remote. firmware old: 2.1.2 Resets and so on tried! camera gopro 7 black. On the camera written the type of the connection is established and the remote continues the connection.

Are you putting the remote into pairing mode? It's more difficult on the original remote than the new Smart Remote.

You sure do love your punctuation!!!!!...?????? :)~
You are correct that the Remote is on the original firmware and does not have the seven years old June 4th 2012 firmware. The update requires GoPro Studio to be installed on your computer. If you do not have GoPro Studio, then you will not be able to update. GoPro Studio was discontinued and is no longer supported or distributed. If you would like to use a remote with your GoPro HERO7 Black, you can get what you need here https://shop.gopro.com/accessories-3/smart-remote/ARMTE-002.html
