I have a Smart Remote, a Hero4 Black and a Hero6 Black.
When I have the Hero4 connected, a HiLight Tag can be created by tapping the "Settings/Tag" (wrench) button on the remote.
When I have the Hero6 connected, for some reason this doesn't work. However I've figured out that a HiLight Tag can be created by tapping the "Power/Mode" button on the remote instead.
When I have both cameras connected and recording at the same time, I can tap the Settings/Tag button to create a HiLight Tag with the Hero4. But on the Hero6, nothing happens. If I tap the Power/Mode button, nothing happens. It appears that if a Hero4 and a Hero6 is connected at the same time, HiLight Tag will not work with the Hero6.
On the product page for the Smart Remote, GoPro claims that the Smart Remote will work with both of these cameras, and that it will support HiLight Tag.
The manual for the Smart remote says that "If the remote is connected to multiple cameras, HiLight Tags are added to video on all cameras."
Any ideas on how to solve this?

Thank you for the detailed description of the issue. Unfortunately, anytime you pair more then one camera to the Smart Remote, you are going to be able to turn the cameras on/off, and start/stop recording. The additional features are not going to be available, even if all of the cameras are the same model. While the manual sates that "If the remote is connected to multiple cameras, HiLight Tags are added to video on all cameras," , it also notes that HiLight tags are not available on all GoPro camera models. Between the HERO4 and the HERO6 cameras, the remote control is more compatible with the former, the reason why you observe the tag to work with it. Hope this helps.
