REMO remote is discontinued

Preferably someone from GoPro could comment on the sudden disappearance of the Gopro Remo remote both at the gopro.com shop as well as at retailers. Will there be a new unit? When?

At this time we no longer have the REMO in stock, and unfortunately we do not know if and when it will be restocked. Should you have issues with your REMO that cannot be fixed by troubleshooting, please get in touch with our Support team so you can be assisted in a timely manner.

I reached out to GoPro support and got this reply:

"We do not information yet about that, I'm sorry."

They will not even confirm that it has been discontinued.

It has been over three months now...

Is there an issue with the Remo which your customers should be aware of? If so, please state it. The Remo is available elsewhere and I'm considering purchasing either that (ideally, as it uses the BLE protocol) or the wifi Smart Remote. Please try to contribute something a little more useful than a string of "don't know"s when somebody amongst your ranks clearly does know.

Get the Smart Remote. It has better range, allows you to adjust the camera settings, and multiple cameras to be connected at once. REMO works fine for some, but there seems to be a battery issues with many of them.
