New Gopro 'The Remote" not switching on/off

Recently bought the new Remote for the Gopro8 and tried to pair it but found the camera needed updating. Once I got that sorted I found that the Remote screen had gone blank and the red staus light blinks, staying on for approx 10 secs and off for 2. It wont allow me to turn off or on, nor will holding the Mode and Shutter buttons simultaneously reset the device. I can see that the screen appears to turn on and off with the status light but there is no info on the screen. I have tried charging via computer and USB charger and neither shows that the unit is charging.

Any help on solving the issue appreciated.

Thanks aragon1006, Unfortunately the camera and remote had not yet been paired. I downloaded the update anyway on the chance it may update but it hasnt. After 3 days the Remote is still flashing the same sequence.

I did sit online waiting for a support chat for an hour on Friday, only to get to 1st in line then get a message that no one was availble. Bit dissapointing. Will try again Monday. must be a faulty Remote.

Sorry to hear about the trouble, @spirycave88446. When contacting our Support Team through https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs, if you haven't yet, try again after clearing cache and cookies or using a different browser. You may also explore using an incognito browser to see if it makes a difference. Also, please manually enter the details on the form; do not copy-paste the info.

 

Once on the page, fill out the form and you will be given an option to initiate a chat conversation or to request a callback. Be sure to put in your best contact number on the form.

 

Should you encounter any issue scheduling a callback or a live chat, please ensure that your browser isn't blocking cookies and the pop-up blocker should be disabled. If you run across issues, there are some suggestions provided by a Hub member in this thread that might help.
