hey buddy its huotalicus here
so makes ure that you do not disconnect anything once you turn on your phone and select the right microphone .... also are you using the correct aux jack for your mic??
you need a trs jack with only 2 black lines on the connecting tip to your gopro... not 3 which is trrs..i know when i used trrs this happened to me also..
so try again ..and also maybe post a pic of your setup and ill try to figure out where you went wrong...i only fell on this discovery also.. butit does work well..ive been recording with an extension cable ever since..and never gone wrong unless i forget to select the correct mic...
also if any of the mics your using has power you have to make sure you select powered mic....not standard mic...
standard mic is only for mic that use no power whatsoever....
let me know your findings and if you can post on my youtube channel to share your findings..to help everyone else also

By the way, specifically what mic and cable are you using? Also, are you using Quick Capture?
