Hero 5 Session Floaty with Suction Cup

So I am going boating and I want to attach my gopro to my boat tower to record me wakeboarding. I put the gopro on the suction cup and then I want to attach the floaty onto the gopro. If, perhaps the suction cup fails, whitch hopefully it doesn't will the floaty be able to hold the gopro on the surface with the suction cup attached?

Re: Hero 5 Session Floaty with Suction Cup

@tric1408 - The weight of the suction cup mount is going to be too much for the Floaty. It will make the Session sink. It might be a good idea to tether the camera to something secure on the boat and/or attach a larger float to the rig so that if it does go in the water, it will all still be recoverable.
