Hero 3 waterproof case latch broke

Looking for assistance with my son's Hero 3 waterproof case latch that had broken. We were in Florida and couldn't use it snorkeling. We were disappointed he couldn't use the gopro and don't want this to happen again. What can you do to help us before we go back to use it underwater again? Thanks!
