I just purchased a 3 way and love it's versatility!
However, I do not understand the purpose behind the blue locking button. It only locks the 1st arm and prevents the unit from folding up compactly (approximately the last 30 degrees). To me it should lock the unit in the extended mode and force you to push and unlock when folding.
Am I right? Did I possibly put it together wrong after disassembly??? I tried putting it together differently with no luck.
I'd really like to know the reasoning behind the engineering if mine is correct

My understanding is sobthat you don't collapse the accessories onto your fingers, you have to press the blue button to close it right up.
OK, didnt think of that one. So the button (lock) would prevent you from pinching your fingers if you were too unintelligent to tighten the other thumbscrews when using 3-way, or folding it up to stow away. :) LOL!
