Hi thanks in advance for any help.
I have a hero6 and i'm trying to connect a lavalier microphone to it for better sound when I make youtube videos.
This is the mic I purchased:
BOYA BY M1 Lavalier Microphone
I then found out that I needed the $50 gopro 3.5 mm adapter because this seems to be the only option out there? pleaes tell me if there is something smaller and cheaper.
I then did some research and the connection from the lavalier mic isn't supported and i needed an adapter. So i bought this:
Microphone Jack Adapter 3,5mm Female TRRS to 3,5mm Male TRS 4PIN To 3PIN
so with all of that i still can't get any sound to record.
what am i doing wrong? is there a special audio input i should try?
The microphone will record when plugged into my laptop, so i know that's not this issues
thanks so much for any advice

I have a similar Lav Mic and it does require the adapter to work with the GoPro 3.5mm adapter.
I have this mic:https://goo.gl/pFaW6E attached to the GoPro adapter that works great.
A few things if the GoPro is new you will need to update the firmware to the latest version before use with the Mic Adapter.
Also you need to make sure the camera is powered on before beginning to record. Give that a try and let us know how it goes.

thanks for the reply.
I'm running version 01.60.00
I think that's current?
still no luck
no matter how i try to plug it in, use pin adapter for the mic, nothing
another question....my batteries seem to die overnight when in the camera. any thoughts?
