GoPro 8 Media Mod connected with Gopro Hero 8 Black does not record audio from external mic

I am using rode wireless go external mic with the gopro media mod paired with gopro hero 8 black. Most of the times the audio doesn't get recorded from the external mic, even though I have selected the PoweredMic option in the gopro cam. This is pathetic. It is really a bad thing when we find out during editing/post processing that the external mic audio is not recorded. My whole day's effort feel like wasted.

This is not the first time. Several times the audio doesn't get recorded and the stereo audio in gopro is recorded(my guess) or maybe from the media mod mic itself with very less quality and the subject's audio is not recorded since the subject may be far away wearing the external mic.

Seen some similar posts like this regarding external mic issues with media mod and gopro 8. Please provide a resolution to this at the earliest. I purchased the media mod to use external mics with the gopro 8 black. I purchased the rode wireless go also to use with this camera. Now most of the times, I am getting this issue and it is affecting my work.

Sorry for any trouble caused.

What SD card are you using?

What software version is the camera on?

Do you notice any issues when the camera is recording on its own or with the Media Mod (without an external mic)?

See if re-flashing the software to version 1.60 will help.
