Re: FAA Approved mounts for use on Airplanes
[ New ]Hi @daveb763
For attaching a GoPro to the outside of an airplane, be sure to check with your local FAA FSDO(Flight Standards District Office) regarding exterior mounting due to regulations.
The Suction Cup mount has been used to attach the GoPro camera with its industrial strength suction cup to cars, boats, motorcycles and more. This suction cup has been proven at speeds of 150+ mph. It is strong enough to pull dents out of a car door or stay attached to an airplane at 200mph+. These speeds have been tested successfully, though they are not endorsed by GoPro per FAA rules.
The adhesive mounts (flat or curved) could also be used to attach GoPro cameras to a vehicle’s exterior.
Although these speeds have been tested successfully, we can’t guarantee that the camera will stay attached to your airplane successfully, so do so at your own risk.
Thanks!
