We recently purchased a Hero 7 Black and a Karma Grip. When connected to the Quik App, the app says the firmware version is 1.51 and is up-to-date. However, when the camera is connected to the Grip, the camera says that the Grip requires an update. The GoPro website suggests that firmware version 1.8 is available and includes support for the Hero 7.
Is there a way to force a firmware update?

Unfortunately, we're traveling on a boat in the Caribbean. MacOS is all we have access to.
Can you explain why the Quik Application will not update to the latest version?
The product was sold as compatible with Hero7.

I understand. @incognitoa104
Yes the Karma grip is compatible with the HERO7 Black. We just need to get everything up to date.
What version is your Quik for desktop on?The latest version is 126.96.36.1994.
You may also try uninstalling then reinstalling Quik
See if this makes a difference.
Let us know how it goes.

Good news. Installed Quik App on a second laptop and this time it identified the Grip as needing an update.
On the other laptop, the Quik App was installed new only yesterday, so frankly no idea why the perform different.
But, all devices are now up-to-date, so a win overall.
