I once lost my GoPro in the sea, so my question is: Can the 3-Way float? And is there some kind of nylon cord I can buy, that I can attach to the GoPro itself, so in case my gadget breaks or I drop it, the nylon cord (that I tie around my wrist and the GoPro) will prevent the GoPro form falling?

The 3-way does not float. You can get a floaty to put on the camera http://shop.gopro.com/accessories-2/floaty/AFLTY-004.html. You can also get a wrist strap float like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AR96TE4?ref_=ams_ad_dp_asin_2 and then loop to loop knot a few tethers http://shop.gopro.com/accessories-2/camera-tethers/ATBKT-005.html to give you the length you need.

The Handler is for water use http://shop.gopro.com/EMEA/mounts/the-handler-floating-hand-grip/AFHGM-001.html
Floats any GoPro (including LCD backpack). In combination with a floaty you should have an 'unsinkable' solution.
