Re: 3-Way Floating and Nylon Cord?

Provided that I only use the first "part" of the 3 way, which is basically the handler only with a tripod in the hollow part, and a floaty attached to the GoPro, would that work? If you guys don't know, I'll just try it in my bathroom and let you know. Other question; for those of you using the floaty. Is it annoying? I mean should I let it be attached just for safety reasons allthough I might not be around water at the exact moment. I'd just let it stick to the GoPro no matter the situation, how's your experience with that?

Well, you can try this! I'm owning a 3way myself and I know the lower (grip) portion is quite heavy (heavier than a floating grip at least). I would use some teflon seal tape on the bottom nut to make sure no water can leak in (because in case this happens the 3way will turn into 'stone mode', not swimming far but deep).

Keep us posted!

floaty is attached to the backdoor (either dive/standard housing or frame) --> easy to remove when not needed; just replace the backdoor with the one you need (skeleton, standard, touch, ...)

Re: 3-Way Floating and Nylon Cord?

I tried doing this recently and it worked in a way. It will depend in which kind of water you are in. I was in salty water and that will even make you float so I would say it all depends on the conditions you are in. Also I removed the tripod from the 3-way to make it a little lighter.
