H.265
[ New ]H.265, Hero8 Black.
My default settings for video are: H.264 + HEVC
My concern is with lagging in post production as a result of the post not properly handling the H.265.
Where may I find a list of the particular video modes using the H.265? Realising the remainder modes use the H.265.
Are there any affordable post production programs that can safely/easily handle the H.265 or must I convert H.265 to H.264 for use in post?
Presently I convert using the HANDBRAKE app. Other suggestins?
Helpful Hint I found: After coping all files from camera to computer, you may safely delete the .THM (Theme) and .LRV (Low Resolution Video) files as they are used only in the GoPro itself for playback purposes.

Re: H.265
[ New ]HEVC modes: 4K50/60, 2.7Kp120, 1080p200/240 and 4Kx3Kp24/25/30. The extreme modes only.
HEVC should work in modern tools, both Mac and PCs comes standard will a free H265 decoder.

Re: H.265
[ New ]My Laptop: Dell G3 3579 w/32GB RAM
I had severe lagging on:
ADOBE PREMIERE Elements 2020
DaVinci Resolve 16
and
FilmoraPro
i used the HandBrake to convert to H.264 and lagging gone.
It wasn't much of a big deal, but even my 2019 Dell laptop couldn't handle H.265,
Downloafing the CODEC only allowed me to view video on the native laptop, not in the above Production programs!
Thanks for response
