What a suprise! I used a different USB Cable and it works. Sometimes solutions are quite simple... I had no reason to blame the Cable, since it works fine to load the GoPro. Thanks for your support.

Well I'm getting no where with my Hero3. I've tried three different USB cords. I saw the USB symbol on the GoPro for a moment and my MacBook Pro told me I had improperly disconnected once, but that's the best I've managed. I'm running OSX 10.12.3. Something is definitely wrong.

Hi, after trying everything mentioned above and four different USB leads, that all worked on other devices, I got one to work on the Mac. Not sure if it has to do with the length but the three that failed ranged from 10cm to 20cm and the one that worked is about 1m long.
Hope that helps someone else as this was frustrating process.

Same problem here - GoPro Hero3 is nowhere to be found in either Quik or Image Capture when connected via standard USB cable. What gives? Every other camera I've ever used has figured this out.

Same here - GoPro Hero+ LCD when connected via standard USB is nowhere to be found in either Quik or Image Capture, best I got was it showing my photos in capture for a second, but then promptly dissapeared. Really frustrating.

The issue is that we cannot use the gopro as a web cam. I'm tryong to do facebook live with my gopro hero 5 using OBS. The camera is not listed as an video capture tool, the one that I need. How can we solve this issue? I purchase the grpro thinking in a solutions but I dont want to expend more money in capture cards for mi MacBook Pro.
