VERY ANGRY - Multiple 41b Errors - Multiple Factory Rests

TL;DR - Multiple errors syncing to cloud.  Followed all GoPro support suggestions.  Still getting 41b errors.  VERY FRUSTRATED. 

 

Details:

- GoPro PLUS customer (but probably not for much longer)

- GoPro app version: 6.15 (3796)

- iPhone details: iPhone 7 Plus - 13.5.1

- All videos are 60fps at 2.7k

- Largest video (5 minutes) synced to cloud just fine - not assuing it's a file size/length issue

- Video that did not sync is 2:53 in length (second longest video)

 

I've successfully synced 11 videos from my brand new Hero 7 Black to my iPhone 7 app (after some issues and having to manually send one from camera to the app... grrr).

 

I then attempted to sync all 11 videos to the GoPro cloud while camera is plugged into power supply.  My camera is set to auto sync.  During the sync process I encountered multiple 41b errors.  I saw GoPro help threads going back to 2017 (!!!) talking about this error.  I followed their instructions.  I took out the memory card.  I reset camera to factory settings.  I unpaired the camera from my phone.  I re-configured everything.

 

Upon trying to sync to cloud again, I received another 41b error before a single file transfered over.  I did the entire reset again.

 

This time, overnight, 10 of the 11 photos transfered.  I woke up to the GoPro with an error that it lost connection and stopped upload.  I tried to manually force sync to cloud via in camera menu and immediately received ANOTHER 41b error (that's four 41b errors... trying to sync 11 videos).

 

I'm paying for this cloud service but it's proving VERY unvaluable as the camera can't even get videos reliably into the cloud. I would love an actual solution to this problem because clearly the GoPro troubleshooting steps are not working.

If you are getting the 41B error code, please wait about 15 minutes and try the upload again. See https://community.gopro.com/t5/en/GoPro-PLUS-Auto-Upload-Error-Codes/ta-p/609760 for reference. 

 

Do you still have the 11 videos on the SD card?

Should it still be the same, try doing a manual upload and see if the files will be uploaded without an error.

Thanks for the response @aragon1006 ... but honestly you all should be embarrassed that page exists.

 

If there are that many errors/issues that result in needing to reset your camera or wait to try again that's a major sign that you have MASSIVE issues with your product and technology.

 

This is also not a fix to the problem.  It's a bandaid... at best. 

 

I'm trying your suggestion now and my camera seems to be attempting to upload the last file.  So at least there's that... but I'm not condifent it will actually finish.  If this is how the GoPro PLUS cloud sync is going to be... I will certainly not be renewing my membership past the free 30 day trial.

 

I've really only been using the GoPro for about a week, but as a new user, I'm really not impressed with anything outside of the video quality your cameras produce.  Every other user experience has been dismal.  You all should really stick to making cameras... and let someone else build all of your other software/tech or focus on seamless integration into existing cloud storage and video editing software.

 

I know you're a support specialist and this isn't directly your fault, but you really should pass this feedback on to your product teams.

@aragon1006 - SIGH... more 41b errors tonight.  Waited 15 minutes multiple times and three times in a row got a 41b.

 

This is rediculous.  What's the actual problem?  What does 41b actually mean?  What's happening behind the scenes?  Are you all going to address the root issue that is causing these errors?  Your support boards have been riddled with 41b issues for YEARS.

 

It's crippling.  It takes away from the entire experience of capturing fun videos because I know it's going to be a battle to get them to your cloud.

Just to add to this post,

 

Had my Hero8 now a few months and have noticed on the cloud that not all of the footage has been uploaded. Video's show in the app as waiting to upload, and footage shot a few days ago will not upload. Tried manual upload but now getting this Error 41B. Ive tried several times today, waiting for 15 mins before trying again and nothing, still the 41B error.

 

Has anybody been able to sort this? 

 

Kind of defeats the purpose of paying for the cloud and not being able to upload to it

Can you also help us with the following information: Camera version, GoPro App version, phone and OS version.

Thanks for the reply.

 

After a session on the Mountainbikes last night, plugged in to charge and the auto upload worked for some reason! No issues with it last night.

 

Just for referance, Using the Hero8 (current update installed), Standard Activity Option, 2.7K - 60 - Superview, Gopro App version 6.16 (3844), iPhone 7 plus running ios 13.5.1
