I really don't understand this...
My Hero4 Silver sends a WiFi signal to my iOS device for remote control with the Capture app. But in order to use this closed connection, I first have to connect to the internet and log in? So I need to disconnect from my GoPro, connect to the internet, login, disconnect from the internet, reconnect to my GoPro... and now I can use the app with my camera. This is frustrating, cumbersome, and makes no sense at all from a usability standpoint.
If I only had to do this once per iOS device, maybe this would be ok. But during the shoot, the Capture app LOGS OUT for no reason and I have to do the whole process again. If I'm at a shoot in a remote location without internet, I CAN'T USE THE APP.
This absolutely does not make sense at all. If we need to login to use the new PLUS function to upload things, fine. But I don't use that. The Login should NOT be required to use the Control - dare I say Capture - functions of the app and camera. It should be separate and only necessary if you wish to use the PLUS upload functions.
Please change this functionality and fix the app so we can use it without needing to log in, which requires internet and changing networks - assuming you HAVE internet in your location.

i read some other similar threads here, but i want to reiterate:
even after logging in, during the recording session - meaning anywhere from 1 to 20 minutes after logging in - the app WILL log you out and you are screwed if you have no internet connection on site.
the app logs you out well within 30 days, sometimes within minutes. this is absolutely unusable.

@Anonymous - This is definitely unusual. Can you let me know what version of the Capture app you're using (Settings>About)? Also, is there anything else operating on your iPhone when this happens?

How do we reach GoPro and voice our frustration with the Capture Login requirement? I have put in a couple email support tickets, the system says to expect a response in 24-48 hours but more than a week has past. GoPro doesn't allow messages on Facebook. I have voiced frustration here along with others, I have voiced my frustration on the Apple App Store and have seen numerous others who share my point of view. I checked some online reviews such as B&H Photo and people are voicing their frustration there as well. I wish GoPro would respond in some way. Having to have an internet connection to use the App with the GoPro is not a requirement when we purchased the GoPro Hero 4 Black and other models. Too late to return my camera and all my accessories.

Just wanted to add on here. I also think this requirement is complete ASS! There is NO reason to put this requirement on your users. Please , for the love of god, allow for an offline version of the app!!!
