Setup menu not available

When trying to set up my GoPro hero+ I try to follow all the set up guides but my camera does not have a SETUP option at all. I cannot find it on any tab in the camera. Because of this I cannot pair my iphone app to the camera, which is rather frusterating. If anyone knows what is going on help is greatly accepted and appriciated! thanks

Sorry to hear you're having some trouble getting to the Setup menu on your camera. 

 

Please check out the following instructions for how to get paired up with your iPhone! 

 

Pairing HERO+ or HERO+ LCD with the GoPro App for the First Time

If your HERO+ LCD has never been paired with any smartphone/tablet, follow the instructions below to pair the two devices. 

  1. On your smartphone/tablet, complete these steps:
    • Download the GoPro App to your smartphone/tablet from the Apple® App Store, Google Play, or Windows® Phone marketplace.
    • Open the app and tap "Connect Your Camera."
    • Tap "Add New Device." Android - Click on "Choose A Device" and then "Add New Device."
    • Tap HERO+ .
  2. On the camera, complete these steps:
    • Press the Power/Mode button to power on your camera.
    • Press the Power/Mode button until you highlight "Setup,” then press the top Shutter/Select button to select it.
    • Press the Shutter/Select button twice to open the Wireless menu.
  3. On your smartphone/tablet, tap "Continue."
  4. On the camera, press the Power/Mode button to highlight GoPro App, then press the Shutter/Select button to select it. Your camera is now in pairing mode.
  5. On your smartphone/tablet, complete these steps:
    • Tap "Continue."
    • Tap "Continue" again.
    • Enter the PIN displayed on your camera’s status screen, and then tap "Pair."
    • Create a new camera name and password and click "Update Your Camera."
    • For iOS users: Go to Settings > Wi-Fi on your phone and select your camera name, enter the password, then return to the app. You will see a blue dot next to the camera name indicated that it is connected.
    • Tap your camera name to connect to the camera’s Wi-Fi network and you are all set!

You should now be paired up and able to control your camera with the app.

This was not beneficial to me in the sense that my camera is not showing the setup option therefore I CANNOT click on it. The camera goes from video, photo, burst, time lapse, and settings. In the settings there is also NO setup option so I am very confused, please help.

Thanks for getting back to me with what you're seeing on your camera's screen. From what you're describing it sounds like you have the basic HERO model camera and not the HERO+.

 

The HERO model does not have a Setup menu nor does it have Wi-Fi capabilities. Unfortunately this means you will not be able to use this camera with the Capture app.

 

I definitely apologize for this inconvenience.
