Rendered footage from Fusion has extreme contrast between lenses

[ New ]

Hi there,

Have a Fusion with ver. 1.8 using protune with a max iso of 400. I use mostly in the water surfing and expect droplets of water to affect indiviual lenses for stitching, however after rendering the edited footage there is an extreme light contrasting.  Can anybody suggest where I am going wrong please? I have attached 2 screenshots from video prior and after rendering. Cheers

Hello @ollybrunton. Please make sure that you have the latest version of the GoPro App installed on your phone. What's the iOS version installed on your phone? What's the video resolution settings of the footage? Could you also please share with us your workflow?

Hi there,

thanks for your reply.  Yes I have the latest version of the gopro app.  Am using iOS 13.5.1

Video resolution is 5.2k 30fps PT 400 iso max NTSC. Cam version is 1.8

Workflow:   Review 360 footage in app / edit clip length with scissor tool and save as new clip to app gallery / edit clip with reframe / save / render video.

Have just recently repeated workflow with both gyroscope and stabilisation OFF which made a small difference in contrast of rendered video.

Appreciate any insight.

Cheers

Hi @ollybrunton

To ensure good exposures between the front and back lenses please ensure that the camera lenses are not pointing directly towards a strong light source or the sun. This will reduce the possibility of one of the lenses being in shadow and as such registering a darker exposure.

You may also reach out to our Support Team to have this checked further.

Please submit a request for a callback through https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs, or initiate a chat session with one of our representatives.

Thanks!

Hi EJ. The footage is fine before rendering.

Hello, @ollybrunton. Are you still observing the same exposure issue with your rendered Fusion footage done in the GoPro App? We have had 4 releases for the GoPro App since your last post in June. If you haven't yet, see if updating to the latest version of the app clears the issue. If available, please also try using a different phone. This will help isolate the issue further. Let us know how it goes. Thanks!
