Quik android crash duplicate or edit video

From some weeks I have the following problem:

When I create a video with Quik, finish and save it immediately no problem.

But if I temporaney save it and the day after or some hours later return to edit, Quik crash.

The same problem happen when I dupliate a finished video: if I duplicate some hours or some days later Quik crash.

I don't delete any photos, but seems to be some problems with file search in the phone.

I have Android Huawei P20 Android 9

Quik last version of Google Play. version: 5.0.7

Thanks

Hi @adroitdive50361

Please make sure that your phone and the app are on the latest version.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you may try.

Thanks!

Re: Quik android crash duplicate or edit video

Sorry to hear about your issues @adroitdive50361

For the stand-alone video editing app Quik App (Android/iOS) I have no info concerning updates.
If the app is crashing at start your best bet is to delete the app and try to install again.
If the app doesn't save your final edit (freeze/Crash during export process) try this:
- go back, exit your project and save it as a draft. It will be saved on the Quik Home.
- Then kill the app completely, reboot your device.
- Open Quik App, reopen the draft, change something: I suggest you use the video style RAW.
- Try to move around some media + delete one media (photo or video), then export again.
- Make sure you have space on your device.

We've rencently introduced the multi-clip-editing experience into GoPro App so you can do your edit right after importing footage from your GoPro. Note that it's also possible to use phone media.
See this article for help https://gopro.com/help/articles/how_to/how-to-create-a-multi-clip-edit-in-the-gopro-app

Know that since Quik App hasn't been updated in a while, an update outside of Quik App (OS update, System update) could break the app.
I recommend that you give a try to GoPro App multi-clip editing functionality - also a NEW VERSION is just out > 6.2 probably worth a try :)

GoPro App has 2 new styles that Quik App doesn't have, as well as color correction at media level. Many more updates are planned to improve the global experience and add fonctionnalities! :)

Re: Quik android crash duplicate or edit video

The app has been broken for some time now, he is correct one cannot "duplicate and edit" a previously completed project with in the 7 days. It happens around 75% of the time, generally with longer videos.

This appreas to be specific to andriod 9 as it doesn't happen on andriod 7 both using the latest version of the app.

@dannysiggers

Quik App hasn't been updated in a very long time so an update outside of QuikApp (OS update) could break it as it hasn't been tested with latest OS an Android / nor iOS.

I would recommend to check out GoPro App as it also has the multi-clip editing option.

Such a pity! An app with a 4,7 in Google Play, one of the best ones. Do you know is there is any intention of supporting it?
