Quik GoPro Max grab photo issue

[ New ]
When editing my Max's footage with the new Quik app (android), I have been noticing lots of issues with the "photo grab" feature. When I hit the icon to grab a picture and proceed to save it without moving it around, it works perfectly. However when I hit the icon to take me to the grab picture section and I move the camera around or zoom in/out and the try to save it, it seems like the s/w is unable to restitch the image and comes out distorted.

Hi @japhetc2266

What phone are you using?

What version is the app on?

Do you observe this on a certain file or all 360 files?

Thanks!

Ej

@aragon1006 I have seen it more prominent on my Galaxy Tab S6.  The version of the tab is 8.9 (10918).  I have see it in all my 360 videos.  The video settings are at 5.6k @@ 30fps.

Hi @japhetc2266

I am not able to replicate this on a Huawei P30.

If you haven't yet, see if the same happens when changing the aspect ratio.

Thanks!

Ej

Hello, @japhetc2266. To further isolate the issue, does your device meet the system requirements for 360 support in the app? Have you been able to try the same process on a different device?

Thank you for the details that you provided, @japhetc2266. We are unable to replicate the issue on a Samsung device, too. We will share this with the team so we can look further into it. Is this is a recent observation, that is, not an issue with previous app versions?

Were you able to watch the videos from the links i provided with the step by step on how to replicate it?  Yes, now that i think about it, I have seen it in previous versions but never looked into it further since i though it was a minor bug.  Now that i am using the photo grab more, it became more apparent as an issue since half of my pictures come out unstitched.

Thanks for getting back to us. @japhetc2266

Can you please check the chipset of your Galaxy Tab?

Instead of going it via the Reframe option, can you please try it from the Grab photo option?

On the app, go to Media.

Select the file.

Tap on the frame icon.

Select the frame to grab/edit then tap on Save.

Let us know how it goes.

I did a quick search on the specs for the Galaxy Tab S6 and its running a Qualcomm SDM855 Snapdragon 855 . Also, as additional info, i am able to replicate all this in my Galaxy Note 9 running Quik version 8.10.

Here is a video following the steps. No restitching issues but it did have a shift/camera facing issues.

Another video were it does have stitching issues.

Hopefully that helps
