New GoPro App does not work with my two Hero5 Session cameras!

Hi,

 

After the latest Android App update I can't get my Hero5 Session cameras work with the GoPro App. I have Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and I am started to get really desperate. The App work until the point, when I try to operate cameras from the App. It gives message: Can't connect to your GoPro. Something went wrong. Try again!   ...and I have tried everything I can think to fix it.

 

I have removed the App from the phone and istalled it again... couple of times. I have removed the cameras from the App and reconnected them... several times. I installed older Firmware version to cameras (actually I have tried three different versions), but it didn't help. I have tried to reset all connection from the phone, app and cameras... no change.

 

I don't know what to do next. Please, can anyone help me?

Thank you for reaching out. Sorry to hear about the trouble experienced with using the camera. I was able to successfully connect and control a HERO5 Session with a Samsung phone through the GoPro App. Are your cameras update to the latest firmware? Try to do a manual update of the camera following instructions on this link . Choose manual update and make sure that you are using a recommended SD card. It is also important that your phone is updated to the latest OS version. 

 

Then, see if the steps to fix discussed here will help clear the issue. Let us know how it goes.

Thank you for the advices.

 

I started all over again. I updated my phone firmware. I followed instruction on the step-by-step -list and I did manual firmware update to both of my cameras... no change, the same problem still on. After that I try to connect my wife Iphone with the cameras... and they work together perfectly! So I figured out that the problem is not with the cameras only, it's in the wifi connection between cameras and my phone.

 

Well, what to do next...? To be honnest, after tens of hours figting with the cameras, GoPro app and my phone... I lost this battle! I now have two cameras that I can't use (as I need to). I really can't belive that to only solution is to buy an Iphone?
