After download the last update of GoPro App at PlayStore for Android devices, my photos when taken from a video are in very low quality.
For example, before the last update, my still photos where 1080x600 pixels. Now, it has turned to 432x240. Videos are being recorded at 1080 - 60fps.
Anyone knows how to solve it? My phone is an One Plus 5T.

I understand how this could be a source for concern. Every Android device is different, so you may see some stuttering or choppy playback through the GoPro App on higher resolutions and frame rates.
We would like to gather more information so we can help further. Is this happening to specific resolutions only? Have you tried viewing your footage using a different device - like a computer, or another mobile device perhaps? Do you observe the same issue with the video quality? If the video quality is affected the same way as displayed in multiple devices, it could be that issue stems from the camera. To further isolate the source of trouble, you can perform a manual update by following this link: https://gopro.com/update and choosing the camera model that you have. Also make sure that your device has the latest OS version.
Let us know how it goes.

@mariustanya The issue is not the video playback, it is the quality of the images we are getting when using the image capture feature of the app. The video quality is great but when I capture the image it is worse than the 2MP camera I had in highschool!

Yep! This was one of my favorite features and it might as well be gone. @mariustanya is there something in the settings we need to change to get high quality images from the videos?

It is definitely the app and not the firmware or the quality of the video playback. Stills grabbed via the desktop app are crystal clear.
In the past with previous iterations of the GoPro app I was able to grap Hi R Res stills from videos via the app. Now any stills I grab from the video using this app are super pixelated. This wasn't a problem last year, nor is it a problem with the desktop app. I have the latest firmware on the Session camera (2.00), there isn't a newer version since March 31, 2016. It's not the firmware as I had no problems last year with the old Android App. So it is definitely the new Android App.

Part 2: The app is grabbing the still from the low res preview video when the video is watched in the app with the camera as the source.
When you download the video to your phone and watch it directly from the phone, that's when you are able to grab a hi res still from the video.
In the past, one didn't need to download the video file to the phone to grab a hi res still photo.
This is a regression in the functionality of the Android App.
