LG V30+ (L-01K) is unsupported device?

After reading following page:
Fusion - Supported Devices
https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/fusion-supported-devices
I bought "LG V30+ (L-01K)".
LG V30+ (L-01K)
https://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/product/smart_phone/l01k/
(Japanese localized model By NTT Docomo)
However I cannot connect to Fusion from this smartphone. Why I cannot? How should I do? Could GoPro support this model in near future version app? I'd like to get feedback.
Best Regards,
Yuki

Hi @yukishimazu
We do our best to ensure that the GoPro App works on every device but this is nearly impossible due to the nature of the OS.
Android is a fragmented operating system with a myriad of devices running different hardware and software specs.
These inconsistencies make it extremely a bit challenging to ensure that the app will work flawlessly on every device.
What error message are you getting?
Have you tested the camera with a different device?
Thanks!
Ej

Hi @aragon1006,
I appreciate your reply. I understand Android's fragmentation, and your consistent effort.
The message I got from LG 30+ is following:
WE CAN'T CONNECT YOUR FUSION
Your phone cannot control your Fusion or support the 360 media on it.
To download content from your Fusion, download Fusion Studio for desktop at gopro.com
From Sony Xperia Z3, I got same error message.
After posting first message, I found this YouTube:
Gopro Fusion Connecting To Phone - Android Device - Trick
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mo9k4OvwkK0&feature=youtu.be
With this trick, I've finally made a connection between Fusion and LG V30+!!!
Here is the instruction:
(1) Wifi connection between Fusion and LG V30+.
(2) Start "GoPro" app, and choose "HERO6 BLACK".
(3) Enable Bluetooth.
(4) Connected!!!
I guess the trick is unsupported method GoPro team don't assume. So I'm concerned that the trick will be unavailable in future version.
What do you think about the trick?
Best Regards,
Yuki

Hi @yukishimazu
We are aware of this workaround, however we cannot guarantee that it will work consistently.
As this has not been fully tested, some issues with the control/ preview may arise.
That being said we are continuously working on getting the application available for most mobile devices.
Please continue to check our website for updates.
Regards,
Ej

I'm not promoting this, and anything you do is at your own risk, but KonradIt (a longtime GoPro hack/Mod developer) has created a way to bypass the Fusion phone restriction. https://github.com/KonradIT/gopro-modder
Since the LG v30+ is basically the same device as the v30 (other than the increased storage space), the app should work fine with Fusion on this phone. Unfortunately the app checks the phone model and since the LG v30+ is not listed, you get the incompatibly message.
