(New Galaxy S9 first time setup, original setup was with Iphone6 long ago) I have reset camera defaults and wifi on my Hero4 Silver. Using the app on S9: either hero4 or hero session, CAMERA or add camera, with the pin displayed on the Hero, following all of the steps in the app with either "add new device" (in settings) or "camera", the app continually requests I enter password instead of pin, after I enter goprohero, the app tells me I cannot use password goprohere!!!!!
The app does not ever get to the "enter PIN" screen, it continually informs me I cannot use password "goprohero".
I have done this many times resetting wifi or camera defaults or both, the app does the same thing no matter which path I use. ISSUE not resolved for all of us!

While the camera is on pairing mode, open your phone's connection settings.
You need to forget the Bluetooth ID of your camera.
Once done, proceed with the pairing process again.
This time it should be asking you to enter the PIN displayed on your HERO4 Silver.
Let us know if this works.
If not try to reset the WI-Fi settings of your camera again.
- Turn the camera ON.
- Press the mode button repeatedly on front of the camera until “Set Up” appears on the screen.
- Select the red shutter button on top of the camera.
- Press the mode button repeatedly on front of the camera until “Reset Cam” is highlighted.
- Press the mode button to select “Reset Wi-Fi”
- Press the shutter button to select
- Press the mode button to select “Reset”
- Press the shutter button

I have followed the exact steps you entered. There is no bluetooth id. When I first started, I dismissed bluetooth and wifi visibility to the camera.
I have reset wifi 25 times. I have started over many times. I have read all the posts closely matching my problem, I have tried them all,Yours was in a solution, but it does not resolve mine. the app still wants a password and it will not accept goprohero stating it cannot be used, name of camera can be one letter, password must be at leat 8 chars nums or letters or two special chars.
Nada wholotta working here.

If it's still the same, it will be best to reach out to our Support Team to further assist you on this.
They are available via phone or chat.
Let them know of the steps taken so far. Also, please have your camera's serial number ready
