GoPro app keeps disconnecting from camera and quick stories won’t load automatically

I’m so frustrated! I have paired and repaired my GoPro Hero5 Black with the GoPro app at least 20 times today. It keeps disconnecting. I have turned off and disconnected Bluetooth and WiFi and turned them back on. Each time the when I pull down on the app to get quick stories to load on the app it says it can’t find a go pro - now it is saying “connect Hero5 or newer” to get quickstories even though the app shows it is now paired. HELP- I bought this for a biking adventure that starts tomorrow and I’m ready to stomp on it and give up.

May I know what SD card are you using?

Also what phone are you using? 

 

Have you tried manually installing a new firmware?

Follow manual Update Procedure. 

Make sure to reformat your SD card first.
