GoPro Max 360 video rendering problem

GoPro App version 6.15
Camera model and firmware version Max v1.5
Phone Model iPhone Xs Max 256Gb (about 190Gb free)
Mobile OS iOS 13.5.1

I've been trying to render a 24minute 360 video but keep getting a "something went wrong" error at about 5 or 6%.  I have managed a 1 minute clip but even 1.5 minute clips get the same error (this time about 70% complete).

I've also tried it with my iPad pro and get the same problem.

Can you help as I bought the camera so I could leave it running to capture 360 video and then edit it in post production surely it should be possible to produce clips of more than a minute?

Re: GoPro Max 360 video rendering problem

Hi @genie577

Are these 3K or 5.6K videos?

Do you observe the same when transferring regular videos?

If you have access to another phone, kindly check if the same happens.

Thanks!

Ej

Re: GoPro Max 360 video rendering problem

They were 5.6k 25fps. I've tried using my iPad Pro and get the same problem.

Thanks

Re: GoPro Max 360 video rendering problem

I tried a 3k rendering an an 8 minute clip rendered ok so it seems to be a problem with 5.6k. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Re: GoPro Max 360 video rendering problem

@genie577

Hi,

So I'm thinking 24 min file is a huge file so seems like it can't be handled...

However a 1m30 video should work fine on iPhone X. My reco would be to test with several short clips.

In 6.15 we didn't really change anything on the side of 360 support / keyframing so not sure what could be happening here.

One thing to try that isn't great but still, delete / install app again. However you have to save your media first as this deletes the content of the app, so that's an option only if you can save what you currently have in the App.

Also I can give you access to the 6.16 beta - but again not much as changed in the 360 area. Let me know if you'd like that.
