GoPro Hero 7 Black + Samsung Galaxy S8

Hi all, have tried a number of times to connect my Hero 7 Black to my Galaxy S8 but keep getting 'cannot find camera'

 

I can pair the camera with my phone but whenever trying to set up the app I get errors.

 

Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

Hello @megastar60130. Have you been able to manually update your camera? If you have not, try the steps under Manual Update on this article . Pair you camera and your phone once more after the manual update as if starting anew.  There are additional troubleshooting steps here https://gopro.com/help/articles/solutions_troubleshooting/GoPro-App-Camera-Connection-Troubleshootin... should you encounter any issue with pairing. When you say the camera pairs with the phone, did you mean you are able to see what the camera is seeing or access media from the camera? What errors are you getting when setting up the app? Does this mean changing camera settings through the app?  

 

If available, see if the camera pairs successfully with a different phone. If the issue persists, a manual update on the camera's firmware should help. You can find instructions here https://gopro.com/help/articles/how_to/software-update-instructions-for-hero7-cameras . Let us know how it goes.

YES! I am having the same trouble. I can pair with my GoPro 7 Black, but I cannot see what my camera is seing, or upload all pictures to my Galaxy S8. I cannot see the pictures in my GoPro 7 Black with my Galaxy S8. I cannot interact with my camera at all. All it says, it is paired.

@megastar60130 I managed to get it sorted last night.

When it asks you of it is the first time setting up the app / camera select "no" and it brings up other options. Ended up connecting without any issues doing it that way.

Let me know how you get on, it's just frustrating the initial setup didn't want to make things easy for me haha.

I still cannot see what my camera sees. Again, I can pair with my GoPro 7 Black with my Samsung Galaxy S8, but after that I cannot interact with my GoPro using my S8. I tried reseting the GoPro, but it is the same thing. I also uninstalled the APP and installed it again. It had a new option to Update the camera, the APP said it was updating but when it tried to RECONNECT to the GoPro again, it said, "There was an issue connecting to GP25637605 (my GoPro name". Is there some malfuction with my GoPro? I also did the "is this the first time you have tried to connect your GoPro to the app?" and I said NO. it pairs, but it is the same result. I cannot interact with my GoPro using the GoPro APP.
