GoPro App iOS shows different thumbnails for the same video clip on the GoPro Black 7 media and after importing under "local". This makes it confusing to tell what has been imported already. It appears the camera media is the starting frame and local media is a second into the video.
This is especially confusing because:
- There is no file name/number displayed.
- No graying out videos already imported.
- Local shows import order not capture order so that can be different too.
So showing a different thumbnail leaves the only way to compare videos is the time length - which only works for things that didn't "chapter" at the exact same amount of time.
Bad design GoPro, this needs to be fixed.
(This is on an iPad Pro 10.5" iOS 12.1.4)
These are the same video under Black 7 media and local media:

Hello @scotts3308. Is this the case for all the videos that you have? Has this always been the case? If you have not done it yet, try uninstalling, then re-installing the app, format SD card in the camera and test again with some samples. Please save your current footage page prior to formatting so you do not lose any file. Let us know how it works out. We would also like to know if the SD card that you are using is among the recommended cards on this list.

Yes all videos all the time. Obviously it is less noticiable if the video looks similar at the very start and one second later, but the aspect ratio is still different between the thumbnails.
Formatting cards and reinstalling the app doesn't fix it.
Cards from the list that I've seen the issue: Sandisk Extreme 64 GB, Sandisk Extreme Pro 32 GB, Samsun EVO+ 128 GB.
This is not a card issue it's a Gopro App bug.

Thank you for the details that you provided. We tested with an iPhone8 but we were able to get the same thumbnails between the camera media and the GoPro App. Have you been able to check how the frames are using a different device?

No. I haven't. I submitted a detailed bug report for an IPAD. Surely the BILLION dollar market cap company GoPro has an iPad for developement. If not they sell them at the store or used on ebay.
I don't work for GoPro. Why does GoPro constantly want ME TO DO MORE WORK FOR FREE????? This does not make me want to use gopro in the future if "support" is you the customer go figure out how to fix for us.

Yes, we were able to test on both an iPad Pro and an iPhone8. The result is the same. We see the same thumbnails on both the camera and the iOs devices we tested. The iPad we tested this on is running on the same OS version as yours.

Are you using video that changes in the first second? Because as I pointed out in my initial post the 'local' thumbnail is from 1 second into the video while the thumbnail of what is on the gopro is the first frame (i.e., time 0) of the video.
Below are new examples from my iPhone XS (top 2) and iPad Pro (bottom two). Again if the app displayed a filename and/or time/date stamp it would be much easier to distinguish between similar thumbnails.

@scotts3308 - Yes. The videos we tested were those that are with constant movement, with frames changing in the first second. Still we are not able to replicate the issue. Is your GoPro App updated to the latest version (v5.2.2)?
