GoPro App Won't Import GoPro Black 4 4K HEVC on Ipad Pro 10.5 without "converting it to a resolution the device supports". What it actually does is make it H264 even though the iPad Pro 10.5 can obviously support it as it is faster than an iPhone 7 and the iPhone 6 is listed as supporting it. And Yes this is on the latest version of iOS: 12.1.4. I assume this is a bug, but it needs to get fixed.

I’m facing the same issue with my iPad Pro 10.5” on 4k60 videos captured by my GoPro Hero7 Black., despite seeing that HEVC is supported on iPad Pro 10.5” based on this page: https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/hevc

Thank you for the details that you provided, @scotts3308 and @swiftbluff62650. Does any error message appear when you attempt to import the videos through the App? If you haven't done it yet, uninstall then re-install the app, and try capturing and importing sample videos again. Please test as well if other videos (different resolution) will successfully import. Let us know how it works out.

Yes in app while importing. (I'm not sure how else I would get an error from the GoPro app while importing a video...)
Reinstalling the app, rebooting the ipad pro, reformating the SD card, trying other SD cards, shooting new vidoes, standing on one foot during import. NONE FIX THIS ISSUE.
As stated in the original post this ONLY occurs with 4K video so I am not sure why I would test other resolutions that work fine.
Again, iPad Pro 10.5" on iOS: 12.1.4 will NOT import GoPro Black 7 4K HEVC without converting it to H264. It still imports. All other resolutions work fine. The HIGHLY likely cause is the app is not a) detecting the idevice type properly or b) the app incorrectly lists the iPad Pro 10.5 as not capable of handling 4K HEVC.
