Fusion live preview on S8

I have GoPro Fusion and Samsung S8. Before latest firmware update on my camera I was able to normally use GoPro app on my phone to control camera, see live preview, watch recordings, but after I allowed firmware update of camera I can see only black screen. I borrowed ipad and live preview worked, but for me firmware update turned camera into very expensive useless crap.

How can I fix it or how can I downgrade the firmware?

Hello @royalcave50040, 

Have you also tried uninstalling and re-installing the GoPro App after you have updated your camera? If the update was not done manually, try a manual update. Even if the camera may already have the latest firmware, manually updating it will ensure that any possible error associated with the current installation will be cleared out. You can find instructions under Manual Update here . I hope this helps.

Reinstalling the app was the first thing I did. Including wiping cache and data (that means also my photos and videos on the phone). But the crazy thing is that before firmware update everything normally worked.

I do not see "other ways to update" option on the page...

What is more strange. When I try to connect camera I got "we can not connect your fusion", but if I select gopro 6,it connects and normally recognises is as fusion.

What should I do? Should I return it to the store and fight for money back even it is more than a month since purchase and then buy cheaper Ricoh Theta or what should I do? Without full phone control it is completely useless...

Glad to hear back from you, @royalcave50040. Clearly, there is still an issue with compatibility on Fusion-supported devices, the list of specific models of which we can view here. This particular issue with other S8 models has been reported to the team and they are constantly working to expand the scope of support, considering more and more models but we still have to hear from them for new information. The list  just got updated recently.

I checked the list before purchase and at the beginning everything worked fine. If it wouldn't, I would be able to return it on time and purchase something else. Now I have the most expensive 360 camera, but I can not use it. When can I expect fix? Or just please help me downgrade the firmware.

Is the particular model of your S8 phone in the list? Which one? So I can report it specifically to the team. 

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide older versions. We do not have information on when the fix will be available.

Sm-950F. I am quite sure that it was on the list at the time of purchase. Seller confirmed that is compatible and it actually worked.

I will try to return it to the store. Maybe under warranty or some EU customer protection legislation. It is to expensive to not to use it. GoPro makes good cameras but has terrible software developers. from the very beginning there were more issues with android and Windows software than with chinese clones!

Anything new on gopro side? The seller refused to return the money since it is more than a month after purchase. Can you at least send me the link to previous software and instructions how to manually force "upgrade"
