Costco accepting returns for Hero8 after app features removed.

[ New ]

Costco has no problem accepting a Hero8 return.  It was sold with Protune app features, and GoPro took them away.  Now GoPro can have their camera back too.  "To serve you better, we have defeatured your purchase.."

And Beep control?  Not going to wait around to see what feature gets deleted next.

Have a great day!

@greencreek53475, the ability to change Protune settings and camera beep volume are no longer on the GoPro app. Protune and camera beep settings can still be controlled on the camera.

If you are looking for other ways to change these settings, visit The Inside Line for recommended tips and tricks.

We are also continuing to develop new features and ways of accessing existing camera settings to be most useful to GoPro users.

@aenriquez you know what isn't helpful? These flip cut and paste responses that you administrators are giving to this serious issue. Those are not viable solutions to the problem. Your developers have taken away a vital feature than many of us use every time we break out our GoPros. QR codes and presets don't fix the fact that we can't access Protunes remotely anymore!

Right?   It's almost like nobody uses their GoPro in a case or embedded into an FPV where the screen is not accessible.  Just me, then?

Curiously, GoPro has never stated *why* they removed these useful things from the app.

Just so proud of themselves for removing them.  Major accomplishment, that.. "To serve you better, we took widely used options OUT of the app!"

Sorry, not ready to applaud.
