I was able to connect my hero black 5 to the capture app on my iphone and it shows me the preview. But it won't let me use the controls from the app. The screen of the GoPro is stuck with the id and password details and does not move forward post connecting with the app.
Please help! I'm heading on a vacation tomorrow and need a resolution ASAP!

I feel that issues like this are best resolved with the help of a Support rep, as there are a lot of factors they will want to examine to determine where the issue is occurring.
You can reach out by using the Contact Sales and Support link on the main Support page, or by calling us at (855) 635-3578 if you're in the US.
I hope this helps.

I have had the same issue. When I first got my Hero5 Session and connected it through Capture on my ipad Air 2 I was able to control the camera when it was connected via wifi. Then I updated to the latest update 1.5.7 i think it was (firmwear update for SD card) this function stopped working on both my ipad Air 2 and my iphone 7plus. Any feedback?

I have the same issue.
I can't start/stop recording or change settings in any way. These buttons are all grayed out.
I just upgraded the software and still nothing.
The app is essentially useless without these features.

I have found that everytime you want to use the capture app you have to connect a new device. When you go through that process you have complete control of all the funtions, and they are not grayed out. So go into capture, then connect new deivce, then on the gopro do the same, connect new device. Follow the instructions and then it should connect to the gopro and bluetooth. Hope that helps.
