4K export on Android

[ New ]

It's May 2021 and still no 4K export on Android. You guys are working on this issue for over a year now... Are you kidding?
This kind of information should be written all over the place with huge red capital letters.

Bought Hero 9 with 600€ Android tablet (because there is no alternative PC app), how big fu***g surprise it was that I'm stuck on resolution from late 90's...

Hi,

Work on export setting options is being done currently. This should allow users on Android to export in 4K - that is, if media is 4K and if the device used does handle exporting in 4K, which isn't always the case.

Nice to meet such an eloquent wordsmith.

The Quik app has to work on a variety of devices for a variety of users.  Some people are still using phones from the 90's and would immediately start complaining that 4K video wasn't playing back on their nokia flip phone...   Hence it's a light video editor aimed at working for the masses.

There's plenty of mobile video editors out there that can do 4K.  Just use one of those.  Save the footage from your camera to your phone.  Export it to your phone gallery.  It's still in the original file size and resolution and you can do whatever you want with it.
