when I connect my Session using Quick on my PC, I cannot connect

hi all
  I can see my pics and vids on the Iphone app just fine.
 But in the Quik app on my windows 10 pc it just shows Connect Your Camera.
 Even when I connect my Hero Session to my PC.

  I've tried to connect it, then switch it on. I've also tried to switch it on, then connect it.
 Nothing.

 

 Anyone know what I'm doing wrong??

p.s. I'm trying to make a movie with my clips.

yeah, it's the new Hero Session 

 tried a few times, keep getting the same error.

 I did find my other issue though,
 The USB lead I got is faulty.
When I tried another lead, my PC found my GoPro no problem.
 
 Wasn't expecting that, as it was charging fine with the supplied USB lead, but my PC was not seeing it.
 Swap the lead, problem solved.

 Now, if I can register it, that would be great :-)

Is this the first time you connect your Session to the PC? Most likely you have the WPD-driver issue with your Win10

it is the first time connecting my Session
 But, upon checking, I do not have that driver listed in my update history.

 I took the memory card out, and was able to import that way, bu that's not ideal

Be sure to follow the correct procedure when trying to import:

1.) Make sure your camera is turned off

2.) connect camera to PC --> red light sould turn on, indicationg camera is charging

3.) press shutter button --> you should see USB symbol on the camera display

 

Depending on your Quick setting, Quick may autolaunch, asking to import files

@joergq85077 ok. when I do exactly that, I do get the red light coming on. 
 Initally flashing, then turning sold red.
 I press the shutter button, the USB logo comes up for a second or so, then the camera starts recording !

O.K. ... that's realy strange; it shouldn't do that! What firmware are you on and is your camera a Hero 4 Session, Hero Session or Hero 5 Session (sorry for asking, but ther are three session's now and we need to differentiate)

also of note, I thought I would check for an update manually.
 To do this it makes you register your GoPro

No problem?
 Well, not so fast.
  I get this pop up : Please enter a valid serial number

 Even though I have double and triple checked I have entered the number on the camera (starts C31)

 This is not as much fun so far as I was hoping.....
