[ New ]

Hi there,

I have a simple question.

How remove part of the video, ( CUT) from the timeline.

I tried with scisors but something is wrong

Can somebody explain me better, ( some tutorials on line they are using old version of the Quick App)

Thank you

Hello @p4p. The scissors icon will allow you to trim the video. There will be a blue in and out markers, labeled with 3 vertical dots that you can move side to side. Move the in and out markers to the area that you would like to trim. Note the length of the trimmed clip below the playback bar.

Hi aenriquez,

I have tried to use the scissors and I never manage to do anything except marking a single moment on the video with the scissors icon.

But on export, nothing happens - the full video is exported.

And maybe more importantly: Is there any way of cutting 360 files in a way that the remaining file remains in the 360 format?

Thank you!

Hello @stouthero50801

Kindly try these steps:

Open the 360 file on the GoPro Player.

Click the scissor icon.

Click and drag the scissor icon(on the timeline) to set the start of the clip.

Click the icon again to set the end of the clip.

Click the check icon to confirm trim.

Choose Export Trim.

Save the file. You can change the export settings depending on your preference.

Reopen the trimmed file on Player.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks!

Ej

Thank you - this really helps!
The GoPro App ist not intuitive in every aspect and there is no adequate documentation.

On another note, whenever I reframe or trim, the option to preserve telemetry data disappears from the options.

Do you know a fix / workaround for that issue as well?

Gracias!

Thanks for getting back to us @stouthero50801

Do you observe the same when rendering the files through the GoPro App?

Yes and good morning, EJ!

I only use the GoPro App to reframe and export from the 360 files.

TTBOMK, this is the only app that can do this - at this point in time?

And whenever any edits (view angle, lens correction, trim) are applied to the original 360 file in the GoPro App, the option of preserving the telemetry data is not available.

This is a serious drawback to the MAX camera, since it has a lot of valuable data.

And none of the other GoPro softwares can deal with 360 files.

The only workaround at this point, is to go through this workflow:

1. Reframe and export the desired view angle(s) from the 360 file to mp4 using the GoPro App

2. Import the mp4 into Juan Irache's brandnew "Telemetry Overlay" app.

3. once "Telemetry Overlay" (correctly) reports that no telemetry data was found, load the original 360 file in addition

4. add / adjust the desired gauges and export to another mp4, that no includes the telemetry gauges

5. use yet another software (iMovie actually works OK) to cut, split, join and edit in order to create the final movie

So it can be done ... but from the GoPro side of it, this is a very lacking performance.

If you have any suggestions, I would be extremely grateful to learn those.

best regards, Christof
