thumbnails look fine, but they open to a blue screen

When I open GoPro Quick on my Win 10 64 laptop, the thumbnails look fine. But when I double-click on some of them, they open a new window with a blue screen where the picture should be. I have then right clicked on the thumbnail and clicked on download. The pgm spends some time running and eventually says there was no download. What is happening here?

Hi @mjohn1006

You can download the files through these apps.

Select the file then open the menu, there should be an option to download it.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks!
Ej

Re: thumbnails look fine, but they open to a blue screen

Hi @mjohn1006

Do you have GoPro Plus? Are these files also stored on your Plus account or just on Quik for desktop?

If stored locally, right click on the file then choose "Show in Explorer".

See if the file will play fine outside of Quik.

Let us know how it goes.

Re: thumbnails look fine, but they open to a blue screen

Hi there!     I just realized that the photos that open to a blue screen are all in the cloud and Show In Explorer is not available. The photos that are stored on my laptop open just fine.

I have yet to figure out how to download the cloud photos to my laptop. Also, if I enter Create Mode and try to download a photo from the cloud there, the download eventually fails and cancels. I assume there are solutions to these matters, but I have yet to find them.

Thanks, Mark

Oh - I do have GoPro Plus. Some of my photos/videos are stored locally and some are just in the cloud.

Re: thumbnails look fine, but they open to a blue screen

Why doesn’t the desktop allow me to view the photos through cloud? Why do I have to download it in order to not get the blue screen. Seems odd.

Re: thumbnails look fine, but they open to a blue screen

You should be able to view the files without downloading them @marissagwilly1

Thanks!

Thanks, figured this out a month ago. Need to figure out how to close the conversation. :)
