Sorry for any trouble caused. Currently, Quik for desktop doesn’t support camera firmware updates or telemetry gauges for your HERO8 Black camera. We are focusing on adding this functionality to our latest GoPro Desktop application in the near future, but in the meantime, the GoPro App on iOS and Android can both update your camera and also add telemetry gauges as well.

The Hero8 GPS data is not compatible with Quik for Windows or macOS. You can find some alternative software to edit your videos with telemetry gauges here: https://community.gopro.com/t5/GoPro-Telemetry-GPS-overlays/GoPro-Telemetry-Resources-software/gpm-p...
Or you can modify your files with this tool I created to make them compatible with Quik: https://youtu.be/nY4LfVFViT0
To check if the GPS data is in the video file, use this tool: https://goprotelemetryextractor.com/free

I'm sorry but it is really unacceptable that quik does not support the data of the new cameras, it is unthinkable that a person should make all these messes to get something that is advertised as simple. also from the mobile app I can't enter the data.

If the mobile GoPro App (not Quik) does not show GPS data, the problem might be that your videos do not containg GPS data or their signal is not strong enough.
