how to downloadmedia from camera for editing? [ New ]

plugged my Hero 5 Black (usb to desktop, and the camera shows 'USB connected', and won't ask for 'import files'

If you are not able to initiate the import, please try the steps on Camera is Not Recognized on Quik for desktop - Windows

You may also try other ways to import files, see How to Import Camera Files to a Computer - Windows 10 for reference.
