Re: how can I copy videos to an external drive

Hello @cadlac

By any chance, does your external hard drive have a write protection feature? This could be the reason why you are not able to copy your files into it.

To verify, you can try creating a new folder on your desktop (computer) and try dragging or copying sample GoPro files there. If this works, you may have to remove the write protection on your hard drive first then proceed with copying the files. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,
Marius

Hi @cadlac

You will need to use a computer to do this.

Connect both the camera and the external drive to the computer.

Turn the camera on, you should be able to access the files.

Copy/rransfer the files from the GoPro folder to your external drive.

You may also use an SD adapter instead of connecting the camera via USB cable.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks!

I used the SD card and it still shows a slashed circle when I try to drag and drop the file to the external drive, not allowing me to copy to the Ext Drv
