editing videos

Hello,

I have a new Hero 6 black.  I have zero experience in editing videos.  I don't even know how to combine two videos.  I am also wondering if you can simply pause recording so you end up with one video.  I do a lot of trail running and would like to capture specific parts of the run but not the whole run and have it be one file...

Do I need editing software?  Can you recommend specific software for a desktop.  I am going to keep it simple.

I am also curious how to change the video to a streaming type video so it can be uploaded to you tube and not take an hour....

Thanks!

Re: editing videos

Hi @royalpike86236,

A lot of what you are after can be done through Quik for Desktop. I would recommend checking it out here: https://shop.gopro.com/softwareandapp/quik-%7C-desktop/Quik-Desktop.html#

You can also try iMovie on Mac or VSDC on Windows- http://www.videosoftdev.com/free-video-editor/download.

Some of our other users may have some suggestions for you as well!

Best,

Ryan

Re: editing videos

Thanks Ryan!

I will check out Quik.   I had previously downloaded quick but it seemed to be limited to inserting music but I will check it out.

Have a good one,

Matthew

Re: editing videos

Quik seems to add music and arrange your info in a funky way.

I have played with it for a while but I  can't do what I want - combine two short videos and/or cut and rearrange. Will Quik do this?

Can someone please give me a straight answer?
